In this course we feature the amazing funk & jazz drummer Tomi Salesvuo. Tomi is a drummer, bandleader, producer and educator based in Helsinki, Finland. He works at the Metropolia University of Applied Sciences as an Assistant Professor and has played with he likes of Wayne Krantz, Jim Beard, Benny Golson, Peter Weniger, Nils Landgren and Inaki Sandoval. Tomi performs 4 songs of his own funk-band East Funk Attack (EFA) and breaks down and explains each drumpart. Further he lays down two energetic solos and explains why he uses traditional and matched grip. In the interview section Dirk & Tomi talk about his upbringing as a drummer in Finland and about his latest project East Funk Attack. In the last clip Tomi explains his gear.
