Practice all patterns first with your right hand, then with your left hand. 1) First step: Choose an Ostinato that consists of 3 different patterns, play it with your right hand, left hand and left foot and play all variations against it with the right foot on the kick drum. Then, change the Ostinato until you have played all possible Ostinati against the kick-drum variations. 2) Second step: Choose an Ostinato that consists of 3 different patterns, play it with your right hand, right foot and left foot and play all variations against it with the left hand on the snare drum. Then, change the Ostinato until you have played all possible Ostinati against the snare drum variations. 3) Third step: Choose an Ostinato that consists of 3 different patterns, play it with your left hand, right foot and left foot and play all variations against it with the right hand on the snare drum. Then, change the Ostinato until you have played all possible Ostinati 3 against the snare drum variations. 4) Fourth step: Choose an Ostinato that consists of 3 notes and play it with the your left foot. Play all variations against it with your left hand on the snare drum, then with your right hand on the ride cymbal, then with your left hand on the snare etc. Then, change the Ostinato until you have played all the possible Ostinati.
